Why repairs shouldn't wait — and what to do right now

Why you shouldn't put computer repairs off
A 150₪ problem turns into a 600₪+ repair within three months. Four of the most common scenarios I see every week.

The hidden cost of "free" antivirus software
A lot of free antivirus tools are essentially adware themselves. How to tell real protection from a parasite — and what actually works.

Why you need an SSD in 2026
Windows boot time goes from 3–5 minutes to 15 seconds. Swapping an HDD for an SSD is the single simplest and cheapest thing you can do for an old laptop.

Hard drive clicking — back up your data right now
Rhythmic HDD clicks are a countdown. The drive could die in an hour or in a week. What to do right now, while your data is still alive.

What happens if you don't clean your computer for 5 years
Dust kills GPUs. Within a year or two the heatsink gets so packed that CPU temperatures climb 20–40°C above normal — and the slow damage begins.

About the technician
20+ years with IT infrastructure: servers, virtualisation, complex networks, backups, security. When a job calls for it, I solder components under a microscope and bring back boards that other technicians turn away. Earlier in my career — office networks, CAD studios, local infrastructure. I know that a business doesn’t need “computer help”; it needs everything to keep running and not fall over.
I don’t fix symptoms — I find the cause. If your laptop overheats, I’ll open it up and show you exactly what was wrong. If your network drops in and out, I’ll track down the source rather than tell you to “restart the router”. What matters to me is that you don’t have to call me back a week later for the same thing.
I also don’t split jobs into “worthy” and “trivial”. Setting up a printer, moving photos across, helping you find your way around a new laptop — those are welcome too. I’ll explain what I’m doing and why, in plain language and with as little jargon as I can manage.
I work on my own, with no managers in the way — you speak directly with the person who will actually do the repair. Registered as a small business in Israel (עוסק זעיר), proper receipts provided. Haifa and the entire north; a lot of things I can solve remotely. Available from 8 AM to 10 PM, every day of the week.
